Northern California Provisional IFGS Chapter Chapter Board Meeting 8/19/96 Call to Order (7:12pm) In attendance: Scott Murata James Pierce Joe Ludwig Committee reports: Sanctioning Committee We are in the process of sanctioning Tomb of the Goblin Slayer with Northern Alabama Registry We will keep records on paper at first; will move to a computer-based system as necessary. Safety (No report) Treasury ------------------------------------------------------------------ currently rsury consists of a check from HQ for the sum of $42 that is pinned in an envelope on my bedroom door. I don't know of any chapter expenses that are outstanding at this point, though I can see some things that we might want to parsue, or pool together at any rate. duct tape! I don't think it's fair for us to impose on Joe (that's you) to be our soul provider. first aid kit, the chapter should have and maintain a first aid kit. NO! I'm not volunteering. %) rule books. The chapter ought to consider having a couple on hand. I as an individual intend to purchase one, Iknow that a few others do as well. We might still wish to consider purchase of one or two to have on hand. We might also want to wait a bit. Addendum: I called four banks, and I must say that Banks have there own **special** corner of phone maze hell. Golden 1, where I have my own account couldn't help us out unless all memebers were within the field that they service. Sorry guys (and gals), its memebers only. Wells fargo, was experiencing "unusually high calling volume". I'll have to call them back later Bank of America I was able to reach. they want $8 a month. wich allows up to 100 checks and 20 deposits. and if we have a balance of over $750 they'll wave the fee. To be frank, I don't care for BofA, but that's a personal matter. Placer Savings had a real human answer the phone, and they were friendly and willing to help. I was muchly impressed, and it would seem that they have our best option. $1.50/per month, no fee for the first 15 checks, and 15cents per check after that. They don't wave the fee for a high balance, but the practical minimum balance is one dollar. (no minimum, but we've gotta keep something in there). at this time I have intentions of getting in touch with wells fargo, and any other bank that anyone might suggest, but I don't think we're gonna find a better deal than placer. I intend to use my own discression in this matter, unless there is any serious objection. (granted anyone that would volunteer to be treasurer calls into question the matter of the solidity of there wit) ------------------------------------------------------------------ Membership We have received a list of members from Society. It includes all members of the new defunct Silicon Valley Chapter; they have been assigned to us. Flyers have been distributed around town and 4 people (all from Classic Comics and Cards) have responded. Flyers may not be the most effective way to get the word out.
